High-drama unfolded outside the Prime Minister’s residence at Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi, as the Delhi Police detained Congress’ Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav and other political leaders who had gathered at the location for a sit-in protest on Tuesday (July 21, 2026).
A day after their Parliament march, hundreds of students and supporters returned to Jantar Mantar on Tuesday (July 21, 2026), saying the “use of force by police” had only strengthened their resolve to continue the agitation.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) allowed activist Sonam Wangchuk to shift to a private hospital of his choice: Medanta Hospital in Delhi. The court was hearing an appeal filed by Mr. Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali Angmo, challenging a Single Judge’s refusal to allow his transfer from the Safdarjung Hospital.
