A Tale of Three Friends Online Study Discussions Helped Them Crack UPSC and Become IAS IPS IRS Officers

On Friendship Day, as friends exchange warm wishes, an inspiring story of friendship is going viral on social media. What started as a study group on Telegram has turned into the success story of three civil servants.

In the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023, the dreams of three friends came true at the same time. Living in different cities, they shared the same grit, hard work and goal.

Preparing for the UPSC is considered extremely tough. But the friendship between Siddharth, Chandraprabha and Khushali made the journey easier. Despite being in different cities, they would connect online every night at 10 PM. Discussing the day’s study, conducting mock interviews and correcting each other’s mistakes became part of their daily routine. Constant encouragement strengthened their bond, and together they achieved success.

Khushali, from Bikaner in Rajasthan, graduated from NIT Surat. She had an opportunity to study at IIT Bombay but chose to prepare for the UPSC instead. After facing failure in her first two attempts, she did not give up. With the support of her friends, she restarted her preparation and secured All India Rank 61 in her third attempt, becoming an IAS officer.

Long study hours, disappointment from failures and mental stress – the friendship of the three proved to be the best remedy for all of these. Perseverance combined with the strength of friendship helped all three crack the UPSC with flying colours.
