‘Shree Samarth Vishnudas Warkari Kushti Mahavir Competition’
Wrestling Thrill for Warkaris During Ashadhi Vari:
As an innovative initiative for Warkaris during the sacred Ashadhi Vari, the ‘Shree Samarth Vishnudas Warkari Kushti Mahavir Competition’ will be held on Thursday, 23 July 2026, at the Vishwa Shanti Gurukul premises near the Palkhi Tala in Wakhari Pandharpur.The competition is jointly organized by the World Peace Centre Alandi MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions, Shree Kshetra Alandi-Dehu Parisar Vikas Samiti, and the Maharashtra State Wrestling Association. It will take place from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM.Dr. Rahul Vishwanath Karad, Managing Trustee and Executive President of MAEER’s MIT Group of Educational Institutions, and Prof. Vilas Kathure, Secretary of the Organizing Committee, have appealed to Warkari wrestlers to participate in large numbers.Chief Guests for the inaugural ceremony will include:Ulhasdada Pawar (Scholar of Saint Literature & Former Chairman, Rest of Maharashtra Development Corporation) Hind Kesari Dinanath SinghDouble Maharashtra Kesari Pa. The program will be presided over by Vishwadharmi Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, Working President of the Shree Kshetra Alandi-Dehu Parisar Vikas Samiti.Warkari wrestlers wishing to participate should register on 23 July 2026 at 7:30 AM near the main entrance of Vishwa Shanti Gurukul. It is mandatory to bring an Aadhaar card or any other government-approved photo identity proof for registration.
