Pandharpur Police Crack Down Ahead of Ashadhi Wari: Illicit Liquor Worth ₹11.42 Lakh Seized

Pandharpur: In a major operation ahead of the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage, Pandharpur City Police busted a bootlegging racket and seized illicit liquor and vehicles worth a total of ₹11.42 lakh.

Acting on specific information, a police team intercepted three vehicles — a Hyundai car (MH 13 EC 6908), a Honda Unicorn motorcycle, and a scooter — that were allegedly transporting illegal liquor.During the search, 42 boxes of country-made and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) valued at ₹1.42 lakh were recovered. Along with the vehicles, the total seizure amounts to ₹11.42 lakh.

Seven arrested

Seven persons have been detained in this connection, and a case has been registered against them under Section 65 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act (Mumbai Prohibition Act).

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Solapur Rural SP Atul Kulkarni, Addl. SP Vijay Kabade, and ASP Prashant Dagale. It was led by Senior Police Inspector T.Y. Mujawar and PSI Nitin Jagtap along with their team.
